WE WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY, MAY 28, 2012 FOR MEMORIAL DAY

***********************************************************************

Six Degrees of Wellness began when Barbara Hoon, a veteran professional dancer and Pilates student, decided to open a studio of her own. Increasingly aware that Pilates has become a trend often taught by unskilled instructors, Barbara decided to teach it herself, using the thorough dancer’s approach that was so carefully passed down to her.

Along the way to creating her studio, Barbara has drawn in an advisor group of talented friends and professionals. Because each one was connected to her and/or each other in some way, she decided on the name for her new business: Six Degrees of Wellness.

This venture is based on connections—between people, between Eastern and Western forms of body conditioning and between the mind and the body. Our mission is to approach these connections with skill and with professionalism. Towards this end, each of our instructors has been carefully chosen. During every class and private session given at Six Degrees, our mission is to offer a commitment to overall body conditioning by teaching proper form with an emphasis on concentration, breath and control.
